EARLY YEARS FOUNDATION STAGE (EYFS)
At Hummingbird we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, focusing on the Unique Child, Positive Relationships and an Enabling Environment. As Hummingbird is purpose built to enhance early childhood development in natural surroundings, we can truly focus on the EYFS Characteristics of Effective Learning, through a variety of learning opportunities for playing and exploring, active learning and to create and think critically.
Through our multipurpose indoors and outdoors learning environment we encourage practical real life learning for the 7 Areas of Learning and Development.
The 3 Prime areas of EYFS:

- Physical Development
And the 4 specific areas:
- Literacy
- Mathematics
- Understanding of the World
- Expressive Arts and Design
